During the course two languages ​​are taught: English for the first year and German the second one.

  •  English lessons: We divide students into 3 groups based on their knowledge of the the language. During the lessons, students are prepared for the Cambridge ESOL exam of the corresponding level . They may take the exams at the same center as EIDE is an official examination center for Cambridge ESOL.

    • German lessons: During the second year students studying German Tourist elemental start from level 0 to reach the A1 level. The priority is communication. The aim is that students are able to communicate in German in the most common situations in their future work.

    Access without an entrance exam

    Students graduating in this course have direct access to Spanish University without having to take any entrance exam. In the case of degrees with higher demand  than availability, the entrance grade will be used.

    Entrance Grade
    The entrance grade  for students holding any Qualification of Technician will be the Higher Studies average rate (NMC). When the number of applications exceeds the places available, students can improve their entrance grade undertaking the specific phase of the access test (Article 7 of Royal Decree 558/2010 of 7 May). This specific phase will be adapted to the following criteria:
    a) The content of the syllabus will be established for the curriculum materials of the type of second course in the high school.
    b) Each student will have a maximum of four exercices to choose from.
    c) Each exercise will come up with two different options from which students have to choose one.
    d) Each exercise will be rated from 0 to 10 points, with two decimal places. In order to pass the exercise, the student must get a grade equal to or higher than 5 points.
    e) The public universities will use the corresponding access rate to award the places, which is calculated with the following formula and expressed with three decimal places.
    Access grade= NMC + a*M1 + b*M2
     NMC=average rating of the higher studies.
     M1 , M2 = ratings of up to two passed exercises from the specific phase that provide the best admission grade.
     a, b = Weighting parameters  from the  specific phase exercises.
    Each university may establish its own parameters, which will be different depending on the Degree.

    The awarding of seats will be based on the access note as described above. In any case, where a draw for the awarding of places occur, the students whose qualifications are related to the branches of knowledge of the Degree they are aiming for. (Annex II of the Order EDU/3242/2010 )


    Recognition of Credits
    Students in possession of the title of Higher Technician in Hospitality Management may validate up to 60 ECTS credits in certain grades (Tourism , Business Administration , Economics , English Studies , Philology ... )

    Level of Spanish:

    Non-native Spanish speakers will be required a B2 level, which must be proven with the DELE corresponding title or by performing a language test designed by EIDE.

    • Certificate of studies:
    •  
    • Secondary or High School Certificate(Bachillerato, COU, FPII, Baccalaureat, Abitur..) or the corresponding diploma from the students' country of origin. 

    To gain access to the Higher Studies in Hospitality Management, it is necessary the Baccalaureat Certificate of Secondary Education equivalent in each country, duly approved. EIDE can carry out the qualification approval procedures . To submit the titles to approve, the student must send:

    1.Legalized baccalaureat title and academic certification of the last 2 years of secondary education legalized

    To legalize them, the students must submit both documents to the Ministry of Education in his Country, where the corresponding stamp will be given:

    • States members of the European Union or signatories of the European Economic Area Agreement: it is enough with the official title, no legalization of some sort is required.
    • Countries that have signed the Hague Convention of October 5, 1961: The country's Ministry of Education (or other competent authority) legalizes the documents through an "Apostille" (Seal).;
    • Other countries: Check with the ministry of education in the country or with the office of the Spanish Ministry of Education in each country.

    2. Official translation of the documents.

    An official translation of the 2 documents mentioned in the A) section  and the corresponding seal of legalization should be made. In order to become an official translation,it has to be:

    • Made by a certified translator duly authorized or registered in Spain
    • Or, alternatively,sealed by any diplomatic or consular representation of the Spanish State abroad (Spanish embassy or consulate)

    Higher studies

    Higher studies in hospitality management

    A international career, exciting and with prospects.

    It is aimed at students who wish to become professionals in the tourism-hospitality industry, with a communicative profile, who like dealing with people, travelling and meeting other cultures.

      It is the only official diploma in hotel management in Vizcaya, with a duration of 2 years and a practical approach, we prepare students  to access middle management roles. Apprenticeships would be in hotels, with the possibility of being made ​​abroad.

    Currently, EIDE has an agreement with the Basque regional government so the course is subsidized.
